Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation After Prostatectomy

Pelvic floor rehabilitation can play an important role in recovery following prostatectomy. Changes to bladder control and sexual function are common after prostate surgery, and physiotherapy can provide support throughout the recovery process.

Treatment focuses on helping you understand and retrain your pelvic floor muscles to support continence and improve control. We can also provide guidance around returning to activity and addressing changes in sexual function following surgery.

Assessment is individualised and may include real-time ultrasound imaging of the pelvic floor, which allows us to look at how the muscles are working and provide feedback to help guide your rehabilitation.

Your recovery is individual, and we can work with you to develop a rehabilitation program that reflects your symptoms, goals and stage of recovery.
